  • Well, V and L are parallel, so both statements are true, but V may be a more practical choice for implementation. Conceptually, L makes more sense to me. Commented Dec 18, 2013 at 21:07

    @Dancrumb: no, in your equation above L is a point on the line, which is never a parallel vector to V (except for R=0). Commented Dec 19, 2013 at 8:56
