Q: What does OMS stand for?
A: OMS = Old Married Spirk! :D
Q: At what time can Kirk and Spock actually be labeled old married Spirk?
A: Any time during or after TMP.
Q: How can I participate in the challenge?
A: Create any kind of fanwork that features old married Spirk as the main characters. Your submission can be writing, art, playlists, videos, and anything else as long as you're creating something new to share.
Q: Is this challenge limited to only the TOS universe?
A: No. You can create fanwork from any universe. You can even include universe crossovers if you wish.
Q: Can my work include other characters?
A: Yes. You can even add in a younger version of Kirk and Spock if your muse calls for it, but please make sure the focus of your work is old married Spirk.
Q: Is there any rating restriction?
A: No. You can post anything from G to NC-17. Please just tag your work appropriately out of courtesy.
Q: When will posting be?
A: November 1, 2015 ~ November 15, 2015. Posting will be open to everyone during this time; no dates will be assigned.
Q: Where will posting be?
A: For writers, there is a group on AO3, KS Archive, and LiveJournal (this community). People contributing art, playlists, or videos may choose where their work is hosted. At the end of the challenge, a masterlist of all work will be compiled and promoted on tumblr and LiveJournal.
Q: How do I sign up?
A: Please take thirty seconds to sign up here on this form to join. You don’t officially need to do this, but it’s helpful for the organizer. (Thank you! <3).
Q: If I need to drop, how do I do that?
A: Life happens! If you need to drop, just send an email to plaidshirtjimkirk@gmail.com. No explanations or excuses necessary and there’s no penalty.
Q: Is there a minimum word count for writers?
A: Nope! Write an epic novel, a mid-length fic, a ficlet, a drabble, a poem, or a haiku. It’s up to you!
Q: What kind of art is accepted?
A: Any and everything. A colored piece, a sketch, a painting -- anything. Go wild!
Q: Does my work need to be new in order to join?
A: Yes. Your work must be new or previously unpublished in full. HOWEVER! You are welcome to join if you publicly posted snippets or a preview of your work. As long as it wasn’t the full piece, you’re allowed to participate.
If you’re writing an OMS piece for the 2015 KiScon Zine, you’re welcome to cross-post to this challenge. KiScon is occurring just before posting starts this year.
Q: Are you affiliated with T'hy'la Big Bang?
A: No, but when TBB runs again in the future, maybe we can collaborate and organize a cross-posting for work that meets the rules of that project!
