|
COLD OPEN | Prairie Dawn monologues to herself about having "pageant block" - she can't think of an idea for a new pageant, and she's worried she may never make any more. She spots Ruthie, Elmo, and Carlo inside Hooper's Store and wonders if they can help.
|
SCENE 1 | Prairie asks Ruthie and Elmo for an idea, but they're too occupied playing a guessing game about the foods they're going to have after lunch. They encourage Prairie to play along as Ruthie had promised Elmo she'd play, but Prairie can't get the pageant (or lack of one) off her mind. Ruthie reveals that she's going to have a pickle and Elmo's got a strawberry ice cream cone, which they begin to dig into. Prairie decides to leave to consult somebody else, even when Ruthie and Elmo are ready to help.
