COLD OPEN | Big Bird introduces today's sponsors when he notices a Snuffleupagus exiting the Subway Station and mistakes him for Snuffy. He sees a couple more exit the subway and notices they all have grass skirts. He goes to look for Snuffy, wondering what's going on. |

SCENE 1 | Big Bird finds Snuffy and Alice in front of 123 Sesame Street and tells him what he just witnessed. Snuffy explains today's the Snuffleupagus-American Day Parade, a special event for his species to show how proud they are to be Snuffleupagus-Americans. Big Bird notices Snuffy's also in a grass skirt and marching in place. Snuffy claims he's practicing, but his two back feet won't march with him and says they're being stubborn. The two try reasoning with his feet, which instead stomp in protest (causing the street to shake). |

SCENE 3 | Big Bird tries his next idea - politeness. The feet still refuse to listen and sit themselves down instead. Big Bird and the kids each take a turn to pry Snuffy's back end from the ground, but don't get anywhere. The plan works for a brief time when they all cooperate, but the back legs sit themselves down again. |

SCENE 4 | As more of the crowd begins to assemble, Snuffy tells Alice she'll have to represent the both of them in the parade and gives her a stirring speech about the importance of being a Snuffleupagus-American and their Hawaiian heritage. Alice has issues walking proud as her brother dictates, so Carlo uses a song to show her how to walk proud. He has Big Bird and a few kids demonstrate which helps Alice understand, and soon the song inspires Snuffy's back legs to show how proud they are and he's able to march on all four feet! |

Big Bird makes a short speech, then introduces Snuffy and Alice to do the "Snuffle Hula" which tells the story of Big Bird getting to join the parade. |

- Only three Snuffleupagus puppets are used to represent everyone in the parade (the ones for Snuffy, Alice, and an extra Snuffy that is often used as his various relatives). Elements of their costumes also come from past projects, including a straw hat from "Letter S Song," a pith helmet from Episode 2150, sunglasses used in Episode 2201, Snuffy's Santa hat from Christmas Eve on Sesame Street, and a superhero cape from Episode 1829.
