Big Bird sees Mr. Snuffleupagus looking distraught as he stands by a several-foot-high trash can. Snuffy explains that his mommy wanted him to take out the trash before he came over to play, but he was so anxious to play that he forgot to leave it behind and brought it with him instead. Big Bird thinks they can play now, then Snuffy can bring the trash can back on his way home. As the two run off to play, Oscar emerges to witness another typical day on Sesame Street...until he gets a view of the giant trash can nearby.

This version of "I Love Trash" uses the music track in Oscar's debut of the song in a season one episode. This scene was included on the DVD release 50 Years and Counting.

Big Bird heeds their advice not to tell Oscar in his current state, while saying he thinks the two should spend more time together.
