like nature and plant-related themes are all about the cycle of life and death, so I feel like it would be a really cool middle ground for the spiritual path and ghost path. plus I just think it would be really rad if WWX could like make plants grow from corpses/graves and make new life where before there was only death…
just imagine WWX turning abandoned graveyards into gardens. imagine him making flowers grow in WN’s hair so the baby Lans don’t find him so scary. imagine WWX cleansing the burial mounds by turning them into a giant forest or a jungle or something.

Anon, ten years ago gay people couldn’t get married in large parts of the US. AIDS was an almost certain death sentence when I was in high school. I was looking at job boards the other day and found a part time gas station job that had health insurance as a benefit, which NEVER would have happened 15 years ago. When I was a kid, hitting your child was extremely normalized in the US and my parents were the weird ones for not doing it. There is a vaccine for chicken pox. I didn’t meet anyone who had transitioned until my 20s because it was so uncommon to transition in the aughts, and now there are some states that protect your right to have gender affirming care provided by your health insurance. It’s not all states, but it’s better than the number of states that had it in 2010, which was zero. THERE ARE TENANTS UNIONS NOW. WE HAVE A VACCINE AGAINST CERVICAL CANCER.
And all of that has been the work of a lot of individuals and organizations and research teams and activists.
Do you know how bugfuck insane the words "Unionized Starbucks" would have sounded to someone in 2005? Baristas getting union-mandated breaks could have been a throwaway joke in part of the Scary Movie franchise as something ridiculous.

I enjoy the Two Cakes Philosophy and I believe it deserves its place enshrined in fandom culture.
Forgive me for the extended metaphor but I also want to simultaneously celebrate what I’m calling Bakery Display Case Philosophy. You know when you walk into a bakery and the display case is full of beautiful treats? And there’s a variety of different colors, textures, and flavors to discover? And that’s so deeply exciting?
You might say to yourself, “No one is going to want to read this pairing. No one is going to want to want a character study of that character. No one wants genfic in this fandom, only shipfic.”
And you might use that to discourage yourself from writing a certain fic.
Fandoms, like bakeries, need cakes and cookies and éclairs and cream puffs and shortbread and brownies and pies and tarts and petit fours and turnovers and cinnamon rolls and madeleines and meringues—and so many other things—to survive.
Write your dark chocolate pistachio croissant fic. Your fandom needs it actually.
