You want to know something about me? Silly person, go learn something useful! No? Ok, fine. Let's see how quickly I can bore you to tears...
I'm a generally active person who enjoys exercise, sports, camping, hiking, and anything that gets me off the couch and out of the house. I also love to cook, write, sing, play piano, and do a bit of wood-working.
I live in Kansas City (Kansas, not Missouri) with fiona_fawkes, my lovely wife and fellow geek, with our kids (dog and cat, not human, sorry). Point to note - if you're a geek, you should marry another geek. It's so much better that way. It's squeeful.
On a personal note, I consider myself pagan - tend to prefer the Druidic belief/practice system. I'd say that my faith is agnostic, my philosophy is Eastern, and my practice is pagan. Aaaand I belong to a UU church. If you can sort that out, then we ought to chat sometime. :) Generally, I won't talk too much about my inner beliefs on this LJ - this is more of a lighthearted way for me to keep in touch with people, post my stories, and have fun, but every so often you'll see some of the deeper stuff poke through.
What else? Ah, special talents! Well, I can wiggle my ears. I can juggle. I find 4-leaf clovers by the hundreds. I can do one-handed push-ups. I do a great Harry Potter impersonation, and a better Frodo. I make excellent sushi. I can identify over a dozen gourmet, non-flavoured coffees by smell alone. I have a three-octave vocal range when I'm warmed up. I can perform minor acts of telekinesis. No, really! I can! Why don't you believe me?
I've got some ridiculous high hopes, and I'm just cocky enough to think I can do at least some of them. I want to get a novel published. I want to perform in a musical. I want to visit all seven continents - yep, including Antarctica. I want to get my advanced degree - med school would be nice. I want to be remembered. Let's see what I can do.
Beyond that, I don't drink much (top-shelf bourbon please), I don't smoke, and I have an obsession with socks. And there's me in a nutshell. (Pecan, I think.)
