71	The Boroughs  Trailer Drama/Sci-Fi/Horror: Supernatural thriller The Boroughs comes from Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews, who previously developed the excellent Dark Crystal sequel series for Netflix in 2019. Set in a seemingly peaceful retirement community, the show follows a misfit group of retirees who band together to battle a mysterious, malevolent force. If that sounds a bit like a Stranger Things for the grey hair set, well, you're right: It is produced by Stranger Things creators the Duffer brothers. (Addiss and Matthews also cite the film Cocoon as an influence.) The excellent ensemble is led by Alfred Molina, Geena Davis, Alfre Woodard, Clarke Peters, Bill Pullman, and Denis O'Hare and also includes Ed Begley Jr., Jena Malone, Karan Soni, Rafael Casal, Dee Wallace, and Jane Kaczmarek. The Hawk  Trailer Comedy: There are few bigger celebrity hockey fans than Will Ferrell, so naturally his first TV series is about ... golf. Ferrell plays a one-time top-ranked pro golfer who now finds himself decades beyond his career peak but unwilling to give up the fight, against the advice of everyone close to him. Molly Shannon, Luke Wilson (whose brother Owen stars in Apple's similar golf comedy Stick), Fortune Feimster, Jimmy Tatro, David Hornsby, Katelyn Tarver, and Chris Parnell also star. The series was first ordered in 2023 as a collaboration between Ferrell, Ramy Youssef, and Josh Rabinowitz, but the latter two left the project due to creative differences—the original concept for the series centered on a PGA competitor league akin to LIV Golf—with Harper Steele and Chris Henchy eventually stepping in to share the co-creator title with Ferrell.

Lanterns  Teaser1 - Teaser2 Drama/Sci-Fi: The third TV series set within the DC Universe (following Creature Commandos and Peacemaker) comes from Damon Lindelof (Watchmen), Chris Mundy (Ozark) and comic book writer Tom King, and finds Kyle Chandler, Aaron Pierre, and Nathon Fillion playing members of the Green Lantern Corps, a group of intergalactic peacekeepers. Kelly Macdonald, Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan, Paul Ben-Victor, Nicole Ari Parker, and Jason Ritter also star, while guests include Laura Linney. Mundy also serves as showrunner for the series, which isn't adapted from any specific storylines from the comics but instead is structured as a murder investigation that draws elements from throughout Green Lantern's history as well as from TV shows including True Detective (which Mundy once produced) and Slow Horses (which shares a director, James Hawes, with this series). What once began as a Greg Berlanti-produced, Finn Wittrock-starring Max original back in 2019 finally emerges from seven years of development as an HBO-branded series (also streaming on HBO Max) today with its first of eight episodes.

Taking over as director is David Fincher—yes, that means that Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are composing the score—and he'll have a cast that also includes Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Holt McCallany, and Pitt's fellow OUATIH returnee Timothy Olyphant.
