Didn't know there was a "no longer needed" flag option for comments - as stated elsewhere in this question. Typically I'd expect those to be serious violation flaggings. | |

I added it because in the context of the comment section argument I wanted people to know the issue was resolved. As it stands a new reader might become confused and skeptical about the answer when reading the comments. Besides I see the edit idiom all over the place on SE, e.g., this extremely popular answer: stackoverflow.com/a/12940384/604048 I don't feel my usage was very different. The edit note was added in order to acknowledged the dialogue. | |
