The survey targets approximately 60,000
graduates and results are going to be studied by MoHE and Education Council to build strategic education plans in Oman that would match
graduates' skills with the current labour market requirements.
Charlie Ball, head of higher education intelligence at Prospects, said: "Many jobs such as recruitment and sales have a strong demand for those with a degree yet they are less attractive to
graduates who have many other options, go study particularly in a strong labour market.
That means that one in every five of the 1.6m
graduate jobs held by someone in Experts say if suitable that age group was filled by a nongraduate that year.
About 53 percent of the school's students
graduate with debt, averaging $21,911.
The study shows the percentage of recent
graduates working in these roles has risen from 41 per cent in September 2002 to 49 per cent in September 2017.
The results indicated that 42.9% of the internal scholarship
graduate have jobs, compared to 52.4% from the
graduates of external scholarships and that
graduates of internal scholarships are more employed in the private sector, in comparison to their colleagues of the external scholarships.
Of the 1285
graduates included in the survey, 73.6 per cent (n=946) were employed as registered nurses (RNs), 17.3 per cent (n=222) had not been offered work as RNs, and two per cent (n=26) were not looking for work as RNs.
