masterlist of fic (x-men & x-men first class RPS)
X-Men: First Class (Erik/Charles)
Stand-Alone Fic
To Lose Everything, Just To Find You (or, Five Uses For Everyday Honey). Overall, R and 12,600 words; written as a rather belated birthday-present for
euruaina, who requested some Erik/Charles sweetness; it got rather epic, I’m afraid. Falling in love, sweetness, heartbreak, hope, reconciliation, honey. Chapter One (PG-13, 2,035 words, first kisses and tea and fluff) here; Chapter Two (R, 3,325 words, bedroom moments and promises, kept and broken) here; Chapter Three (PG-13, 1,301 words, honey wine and chilly mornings and literary wistfulness) here; Chapter Four (PG-13, 3,556 words, hurt!Charles and protective!Erik and dinosaurs and long-overdue conversations and Shakespeare references),here; Chapter Five + Epilogue (PG, 2,383 words, in which a happy ending occurs) here
The Beats Of My Heart That I Gave You. PG-13 for some implied sex and one use of the f-word; 3,377 words. Birthday fic for
speak_me_fair; there was mention of bookshelves, and this is what appeared. Early days at the mansion, fluff, hurt/comfort, happy endings.
When The Wheels Touch Ground. PG; 1,519 words. Birthday fic for
alernun, who requested surly!Magneto dealing with reporters; basically, future!fic in which Erik and Charles will always have each other, even if imperfectly so; bittersweet but hopeful moments.
Now And Then. PG; 962 words. All dialogue, total fluff, fix-it fic with baking of cupcakes! Apparently I write baking!fluff for all birthdays, including my own.
And The Wish Is True. PG; 373 words. Written as comment!fic for
avictoriangirl's birthday! Therefore, have some sugary-sweet fluff. No, I mean literally sweet; there’s a cupcake. (And also a tiny bit of emotional h/c, because I clearly cannot write fic without All The Emotions.)
Out Of My Head, Into The Clear. NC-17; 6,378 words. Written for a prompt on the kink meme that wanted someone actually using a safeword, followed by hurt/comfort, and you know how I can't resist the h/c. Contains panicked!Erik, hurt!Charles, D/s themes, explicit sex, sounding (yeah, I know, but it's brief and I also blame the kink meme for the reasoning behind this), hurt/comfort, cuddling, tea.
One For Forever. R; 676 words. Really only R for non-explicit long-distance telepathic sex, in which Charles is away for a conference, and missing Erik; partly the fault of
emmademarais, who sent me inspiring emails and also got me to write Charles POV, which I hardly ever do.
Have It All. G; 1,331 words. Road-trip fic in which Charles is a terrible sick person, Erik is a terrible nurse, and someone says I love you for the first time; written—in one draft, in my chilly apartment—as comment!fic for
penguingal.
In The Stars. PG-13 (implied sex); 1,648 words. Written as a gift for
sakana, for the
secret_mutant fic exchange. Charles sometimes works too hard, Erik finds ways to distract him, and then there’s some discussion of Star Trek, naked green slave women, hate as a weapon, ethical choices, and first-time I-love-yous.
And The Stars Will All Come Out. G; 588 words. Birthday fic for
starrose17; future!fic, in which there is tea, a birthday, and reconciliation.
Indelible. PG; 436 words, originally comment!fic for
sirona_gs. Tiny ways in which Erik takes care of Charles when he’s overworking himself.
It Falls Apart For You To Mend (A Little More Action). Co-authored with
disbelief11. R or thereabouts, for not-really very explicit shower sex, and alcohol consumption, and hangovers, and reconciliation. 4,420 words. Otherwise known as the Epic Erik/Charles Karaoke Reconciliation Fic.
Hands On (A Miracle). PG (some slight suggestions of future plans of sex); 2,478 words. Written for the always-wonderful
oxoniensis 's prompt at the Fall Fandom Free-For-All: "Erik/Charles, huddling for warmth/survival leads to *feelings*." I'm not sure why my brain decided to set this so early (and I really REALLY wanted to subtitle it "They're On A Boat"), but I feel that this is an entirely valid missing scene, after Charles pulls Erik out of the water.
The King Of Second Chances. PG, 3,636 words. Erik and Charles, while on their road trip, rescue a kitten, and maybe fall in love. Minus the superpowers, this is, more or less, how my brother acquired his first cat. Vending machine at the swimming pool. Really.
Come Alive. PG; 2,281 words. Written for a prompt over at the Fall Fandom Free-For-All. Prompter wanted “Erik/Charles, healing,” and you know how I can't resist h/c. Charles has a very bad headache. Erik has protective instincts. All the h/c, physical and emotional, ever.
In Your Honor. R; 5,161 words. Written for the prompt over at the kink meme that suggested that one of them, secretly, is very bad at sex. I decided it was Charles, but actually it’s sort of both of them; cue some laughter, some frustration, some h/c, lots of love.
Echoes, Silence, Patience, and Grace. Otherwise known as The One With The Knitting. PG-13; 5,005 words. Flirting, kissing, mostly off-screen sex, loneliness, reconciliation. Erik learns to knit. Then they live their lives. Eventually, at the end, someone makes a proposal. And there is, despite indications to the contrary in section two, a happy ending. Of course.
The Treasures That We Found. R; 2,447 words. There's sex in an elevator, and then, for the first time, someone says the words I love you. Indirectly inspired by the Awesome Husband, who, when Aerosmith's "Love In An Elevator" came on the radio, inquired, "how many stories up are they? because that's really not enough time for that." So I started thinking about, well, how one might hold an elevator in place...
Skin And Bones. NC-17; 3,693 words. Written for a prompt on the kink meme that suggested Emma implanting a terrifying compulsion in Erik's head. Violence; attempted (halfway achieved) non-con, aftermath. But there's a happy ending, I promise, and some hurt/comfort to make things better.
If Ever. R for some not-too-graphic first-time sex. 5,196 words. We’ve all seen that deleted scene, right? The one with Erik in The Dress? Here’s what might’ve happened after that.
Times Like These. R for not-too-graphic sex in the grass; 2,150 words. Based on that picture of the boys in the field, that everyone loves. Charles wears gloves. Erik learns to appreciate picnics.
Know That It's True. Part one (4,583 words) here; part two (1,735 words) here. PG-13 for some making out in a large fluffy bed. This was actually the first Erik/Charles I ever started, and then stopped, and then went back to. Using Cerebro is bad for Charles. Cue protective!Erik and hurt/comfort and I-love-you moments.
Dreaming Aloud. PG-13, for accidental drug use. 3,704 words. Pretty much the definition of hurt/comfort, right here. Written for a prompt (might've been 1stclass_kink ?) that I have since lost track of. It went something like this: “Erik and Charles are in a bar. Someone gives Charles mind-altering substances. This is a Bad Thing to do to a telepath. Discuss.”
Forever, Whenever. PG; 1,915 words. Unabashed schmoop, but also future!fic. This one is set after X3: The Last Stand, so minor spoilers for that, including the bonus scene. Endings, beginnings, always love.
Everlong. PG; 1,715 words. The first Erik/Charles of mine that I liked enough to post. One month after Cuba. Angst, love, maybe some hope, at the end, if you look hard for it.
Holiday Fic (there will be twelve, one for each month, when we finish)
New Way Home. Part one (2,813 words) here; part two (5,814 words) here. Christmas at the mansion (written in November, 2011). All the festive holiday fluffiness in the world; protective Erik; tiny bit of emotional h/c near the end; realizations of love.
Pleased To Meet You, Take My Hand. PG; 3,349 words. Thanksgiving at the mansion (written in December, 2011). Fluff; some more tidbits of emotional hurt/comfort; protective Erik again.
All The Ever Wanting. PG-13 for implied sex; 2,442 words. Saint Patrick's Day at the mansion (written in January, 2012). Fluff. I-love-you moments and ugly scarves and sunshine-covered mornings.
Ring In the Witching Hour. PG-13. 7,546 words [total]; part one (4,845 words) here, part two (2,781 words) here. Halloween at the mansion (written February 2012). Costume parties, ethics debates, emotional hurt/comfort, implied sex; slight warning for not-very-explicit mention of abuse in Charles's childhood.
In The Sky Tonight. R for sex; 9,356 words total; 5,914 words (part one), 3,528 words (part two) Easter (written March 2012), which I decided meant obligatory sex-pollen-trope fic. Recruitment road-trips, mutants with interesting abilities, sex with complicated emotions, protective Erik, boys figuring out that they’re in love.
Cold Day In The Sun. R. 8,016 words total; 3,769 words (part one); 4,299 words (part two). Father's Day (written April 2012); some discussion of abuse during Charles’s childhood, some not-very-explicit sex, the possibility (doesn’t actually happen, or only in discussion) of dark!Charles, protective Erik again, redecoration and renovation.
Another Song For You. PG-13 for a fair amount of implied sex; 7,321 words total; 3,562 words (part one); 3,785 words (part two). Valentine's Day (written May 2012). Erik and Charles learn about relationships; Valentine’s Day is not fun for Charles; lots of hurt/comfort fluffiness
When I Dance With You, We Move Like The Sea. PG; 2,160 words. Mother’s Day (written June 2012). Discussions of what that means for Erik and Charles; falling in love on a balcony on a springtime afternoon.
Just Ordinary People, You And Me. PG-13 for implied sex; 3,821 words. Labor Day (written July 2012). A reconciliation story, post-XMFC. Discussions of happy endings and heroes and starting a school.
Two Strangers On The Mend. R for visions of abuse in Charles’s childhood memories, plus some not-too-explicit sex with Erik, to make things better; 7,105 words. Independence Day at the mansion (written August 2012). Fireworks, painful memories, beautiful first times, s’mores.
next up: probably April Fool's Day...
More Than All the World (The Werewolf's Tale)
This is an Erik/Charles story very loosely based on Marie de France’s 12th-century French werewolf tale, in which Erik is the man transformed into a wolf (he’ll get changed back by the end, it’s not that kind of story, though they very definitely do fall in love) and Charles is a king and eventually there’s a happy ending. Also, a villain’s nose gets bitten off. I am using the Robert Hanning/Joan Ferrante translation of Marie’s lais for reference and English translation aid; the title, opening and closing quotes, and all chapter titles, come from that version of “Bisclavret”. Written for the
xmen_tales fairy tale fun.
Chapters 1 & 2 here (4,146 words); chapters 3 & 4 here (4,177 words); chapter 5 here (4,911 words); chapter 6 part one here (6,718 words) and part two here (3,170 words); chapter 7 coming soon...
Balancing Act
(warnings for these: So a while ago I was inspired by
interesting_gin’s chillingly beautiful work-in-progress that is the Off-Balance series, and I wrote the first one as sort of a missing scene/tribute fic for her, with her kind permission, and she has been wonderful about letting me continue to play in her universe. Mention of past non-con and (non-major) character death; also self-harm and not-exactly-attempted suicide and aftermath; hurt/comfort; edging slowly, sideways, back toward hope.)
The Best Of You. R; 848 words. See general series warnings. Charles isn't holding anything together, not really, not even himself. And pretending only gets you so far.
Shine (Sweet And Divine). R; 5,949 words. The aftermath of The Best Of You. Slow movement toward healing and hope; hurt and comfort in equally large measures here. In some ways the most close-to-home fic I've written so far.
(unfinished third part coming at some point here)
McFassy RPS (James McAvoy/Michael Fassbender)
Stand-Alone Fic
Why We Make A Good You And Me. 3,606 words; PG for content, R if occasional employment of the F-word matters. Very belated birthday fic for
shayzgirl! James/Michael hurt/comfort fluff. Involves hurt!Michael and protective!James and first kisses and suggestions of top!James for later on.
To Make Us Smile. 4,371 words; R for thematic elements and some fairly explicit sex on the uncomplaining couch; mention of past self-harm and past abuse; but James is better, now, with Michael here. Birthday fic for
girlinventor, who requested fragile!James (past abuse), cuddly boys, cake frosting, and comfort—and this is pretty much all of the above!
On Our Way Back Home. R for sex; 4,770 words. Lazy mornings, sunlight, Michael finding interesting ways to awaken sleepy James, a story that was meant to be PWP but suddenly grew all this emotional hurt/comfort plot…Also thanks to the lovely
mcfassy people for some thoughtful commentary on James's eyes.
Do You Want To Know A Secret (I’m In Love With You). R for heavily implied sex? 1,762 words. James owns a kilt. Michael appreciates this fact. After some angst and comfort and boys learning to communicate, of course. Also partly the fault of
garrideb and a wonderful James interview about his “kilt phase” and why he stopped.
If You’re Wondering If I Want You To, I Want You To. 4,341 words; PG-13 for some implied sex and a stranger (not Michael—we do, however, get protective Michael!) attempting some uninvited touching of James on a crowded train. AU in which Michael sees James on a train, and thinks he’s beautiful. Unfortunately, so does someone else, far less politely. And then there’s some comfort, some discussion of pastries and classic science-fiction novels, and raspberry-white-chocolate coffee.
Sincerely (Right Beside You). PG, probably; 1,312 words. Birthday fic for
garrideb, who requested huddling for warmth fic with James as a selkie, but he simply can't handle cold weather without his sealskin, so Michael is forced to cuddle him whenever he's in his human form. Contains some implications of Michael having contemplated self-harm in the past, but he’s been properly rescued by James by now; also, lots of cuddling and hot cocoa.
Made For Each Other (As The Stars Were Made For The Sky). PG, only for a tiny bit of naked James in bed; 431 words. Written for a Five-Sentence Fic Challenge, for the prompt: James/Michael or Michael/James, h/c, long day; post-beach-scene, James’s knee—canonically, after all, injured during the shooting of Wanted—is bothering him, and Michael tries to help.
So Good To Me (Tell Me What I Can Do For You). PG; 1,806 words. Written for a Five-Sentence Fic Challenge, for the request of something fluffy and adorable and happy; slightly revised here so it’s no longer quite five sentences; unexpected family emergencies, Michael being there for James, unplanned proposals, imperfectly perfect moments.
We’ll Have Time (For Coffee-Flavored Kisses And A Bit Of Conversation). G. Really. 403 words. Originally written as all-dialogue comment!fic for a Daily Delicious post, slightly expanded now; problematic first dates, awkwardness, adorable boys being adorable, forgiveness, the importance of having...dessert.
Forever And A Day. PG for content; one brief f-word use somewhere in the middle; 5,623 words. In which Michael’s really not very good at being a sick person; James is extremely patient but patience has limits; Michael panics; and apologies are very satisfactorily made and accepted all around.
Breathing For Two. PG for content, R for one or two uses of the f-word. 3,662 words. Tthe fault of an interview in which James mentions being allergic to horses even though he likes them, plus my back-to-back watching of two movies in which he has to ride. Clearly we needed fic with protective Michael learning about these things…
Another First Kiss Like This. PG-13; 1,426 words; implied sex, and mentions of past self-harm. Also, James baking, which should come with a warning for adorableness, plus healing, cuddling, and chocolate. This came about because
shayzgirl wrote me lovely fic for my McFassy Fest prompt, about the boys handling their work schedules and being apart so much, and it was sweet and painful and hopeful and also kind of close to home for me, and so I had all the feelings about it, and was moved to ask if I could write a six-months-later epilogue; she very kindly told me yes, and so I have. (It'll probably make more sense if you read hers first, though I think mine should stand alone okay if you read it by itself, too.)
Like Every Wish I Ever Made Came True. R; 13,084 words total; 4,202 words (part one), 5,573 words (part two), 3,303 words (part three). Written for the Spring McFassy Fest, Prompt #14: we all know about the generous size of Michael’s, er, Masculine Attribute, yes? So it’s James’s first time with a man, and so they have to take things considerably slowly, building up over days or weeks in order for this to work; James being frustrated with himself, Michael not allowing them to rush things so as not to hurt James, and if there can be buttplugs in the mix, prompter offers utmost love. Basically exactly what the prompt says!
Raindrops. G, maybe PG for very implied sex; 1,443 words. All the fluff, with a leaking apartment, wet James, protective Michael, and first-time I-love-you moments.
Unconditional Things. PG for content; R if you're bothered by some uses of the f-word. 7,130 words total; 4,498 words (part one); 2,632 words (part two). Written for the McFassy Spring Fest, prompt #49: Sure, James may have joked about it during an interview but he really is Amore. No, really. And his next target is Michael. Except, he doesn't want to make Michael fall in love with anyone else. James wants Michael to fall in love with him. Total crack!fic in which James is magical, Michael is romantic, and there're a lot of cookies.
In December (Only Love). PG. 7,468 words total; 3,447 words (part one), 4,020 words (part two). Co-authored with
disbelief11. A somewhat different take on the mistletoe fic. Includes diabolical (but secretly benevolent) Kevin Bacon, egregious abuse of holiday greenery, pining boys, lots of kissing.
Spark. PG; 658 words. All dialogue, written very quickly after this interview, and also this article, about James getting hurt while filming Last King of Scotland, appeared in today’s 30 Days of James & Michael post. It demanded fic. With protective Michael and telephone conversations and lots of love.
The Reasons. PG; 3,897 words. James is kind of a comparatively tiny person; Michael falls hopelessly in love; James gets a headache and Michael has an attack of all the overprotectiveness ever. Written for a Fassavoy Fortnightly Challenge.
We Set Sail (As The Night Gets Long). PG-13. 1,755 words. Written very quickly in honor of Michael's birthday! Text messages, James failing to artistically draw anything including male anatomy, pining Michael, happy birthday surprises.
Found Love (The Most Beautiful). PG for content; one or two uses of the f-word; 5,310 words. So
little_werewolf requested kid!fic, and I am not a kid person, but I’ve tried! Anyway, it turned into sick!James, protective!Michael, and Michael having to cope with babysitting duties, plus some dinosaurs, gummi worms, and motorcycles.
Love It All. PG; 2,369 words. All the fluff, seriously! I’m pretty sure there’s no plot here except for some wistful pining (Michael), a surprise visit (James), a very purple rental car (still James), a lack of communication (both of them), and mutual admissions of love.
Always In the Right Places. PG-13 for a lot of shirtless kissing and excessive alcohol consumption; R if you’re bothered by some uses of the f-word. 7,660 words [total]; 5,701 words [part one]; 1,959 words [part two]. The fault of
raffi and a kink meme prompt that suggested that the boys be asked to, for the MTV Movie Awards, attempt a skit in which they parody their X-Men characters, and the epic romance, by mock-jumping in bed together as Erik and Charles; of course, someone says someone else’s real name while filming. And then they get very drunk and discuss Feelings.
Sing Along (If You Want Me To). PG-13 for implied sex near the very end; 5,535 words. The sequel to To Offer Up The Night (Tonight), which I wrote for
papercutperfect's Five-Sentence Fic Challenge prompt requesting Regency AU; also inspired by
raffi's lovely art over here. Arranged marriages are never easy; pianos and the Napoleonic War; chocolate éclairs and love.
To Offer Up The Night (Tonight). PG; 291 words. Written for
papercutperfect's prompt for the Five Sentence Fic Challenge: James/Michael, Regency AU. Which, yes, that's exactly what it is.
Tell Those Stories (As Farfetched As They May Be). PG; 958 words. James eats an apple. Michael watches and falls in love. And no one is an evil magician, honestly. Based vaguely on this daily delicious post.
Underneath The Stars. R; 4,987 words. The morning after the night before; angst with a happy ending, sex in flashbacks, martini-induced hangovers, hurt/comfort; possible warnings for what might count as dubcon if the influence of alcohol, and Michael worrying too much about it after, fits this definition?
In My Head I Have Painted (A Beautiful Picture Of You). R; 562 words. Short little scene, all dialogue, written while walking to campus; first-time awkward sex, mistaken assumptions about certain positions, naked arguments, first-time I-love-yous.
Do Me A Favor (And Please Touch Your Lips To Mine). PG-13; 5,135 words. As per request of the lovely
telperion_15. Mistletoe, possible flirting, accidents on set, James in the hospital, hurt/comfort, realizations of love, mistletoe again.
Come Along And Find Me (Where I Can Go Home). R; 7,703 total words. Part one (4,786 words) here; part two (3, 072 words) here. The sequel to Do Me A Favor (And Please Touch Your Lips To Mine), otherwise known as The One With The Mistletoe. James gets to go back to work post-accident, Michael worries a lot, and then there is very tender first-time sex.
Anytime. PG; 75 words (comment!fic for this wonderful picture post). James wears a jacket; Michael quite appropriately mocks it.
Waiting (For Me To Phone You). PG; 113 words (comment!fic for this post) Michael has facial hair. James is amused.
Gold Like The Oldest Story. R for a couple of uses of the f-word; otherwise, pretty much PG. 2,317 words. Inspired by
amai_kaminari and this article, in which James and Kerry Condon went around giving muffins and water to stranded passengers at Heathrow. Established relationship, all the schmoop ever; Michael comes to visit James while filming. Maybe someone makes a proposal.
October Light. PG; 4,023 words. Michael is having a bad day. James wants to help. Written for
speak_me_fair, who requested “h/c involving that angle that autumn sun manages to get under sunglasses and give you the headache from hell.”
Just Like A Magnet. Part one (5,899 words) here; part two (3,814 words) here. Otherwise known as The One With The Freckles. Prank wars on set, gingerbread coffee, oblivious Michael, boys falling in love.
Rescue. R for language (some use of the f-word, near the beginning). Otherwise, pretty much PG. 4,346 words. James is very cold. Michael needs to take care of him. Hurt/comfort, cuddling in the shower, confessions of love.
Some Strange Courtship Ritual (You And Me And Nobody Else). PG-13, really just for lots of kissing and possible nakedness, near the end. 3,354 words. Inspired by
disbelief11 and an intriguing picture over at
mcfassy of Michael doing an interview in possibly a hotel room, in which it looks very much as if someone is hiding in the curtains behind him. Obviously it's James, right?
A Chance, In Your Hand. PG-13 for drinking of gin and one use of the f-word; 2,017 words. Look, it's the first McFassy I ever wrote! I actually still kind of like it. Michael drinks a lot of gin and makes a phone call, James can possibly read minds, and confessions of love, of course, occur.
The Epic Universe of Porn, Trauma, Hurt/Comfort, and Love
The Ones With The Porn (this is the first story arc; you can just read these, if you want, though the second story arc starts later on the same night as the last story here)
Promise (When It's Cold Outside). R, or possibly NC-17 if one is concerned by spanking. 3,900 words. Sex, spanking, Michael making discoveries about what James enjoys, early suggestions of consensual D/s themes. Note: this is the slightly revised version, so it does a better job leading into the rest of this series.
**(original version) Promise (When It's Cold Outside). 3,741 words; see description above
Decide (To Be The Reason Why). NC-17; 6,233 words. Further experimentation; consensual vaguely D/s themes; handcuffs and a vibrator; mention of past noncon (there are some things that James has never told anyone, until now, until Michael) and emotional h/c, cuddling.
Move (Until It All Becomes All Right). NC-17; 7,611 words. James really shouldn't hide Michael's cigarettes. More spanking, some misuse of James’s favorite belt, more experimentation of things with D/s themes; mention of past noncon and emotional h/c, first-time I-love-yous.
Save The Day (A Little Closer). R; 3,287 words. Oral sex (no actual sex in this one), one or two uses of the f-word, vaguely D/s themes, also some more emotional hurt/comfort, of course.
Undarken The Night (And Bring You Here). PG, or maybe PG-13; 2,438 words. No actual porn, despite mention of naked showers. There’s an accident on set. And then there is hurt/comfort, and worried and (over)protective Michael.
Listen (Night Is Beckoning). Part one (3,814 words) here; part two (3,965 words) here. NC-17. D/s themes, sex toys, some cuddling and mild h/c after. Direct sequel to Undarken The Night; James is fine, really. They both just need to know that.
Stay (The Past Is Just That). Part one (3,380 words) here; part two (4,912 words) here. NC-17; D/s themes (though, not the direction this usually goes; this time, Michael has a request, and James gets to try to be on top), mention of past noncon, some use of the f-word, sex followed by emotional h/c followed by more sex.
Need (When You Get Close). Part one (5,388 words) here; part two (5,828 words) here; part three (3,586 words) here. NC-17. Possibly the most impressive porn in this series. Lots of sex, James wearing a vibrator on set, misuse of quotes from Lethal Weapon, D/s themes, more emotional hurt/comfort, non-explicit mention of past non-con, cuddling in an enormous hotel bathtub.
Turn (In Love With The Way You Make Me Wait). NC-17;11,943 words [total]; 6,666 words [part one]; 5,277 words [part two]. Okay, now THIS is the most impressive porn in this series; established consensual D/s relationship, explicit sex, non-explicit mention of past non-con, collars, absolute trust, tiny bit of breathplay (basically, the general warnings for this series, plus a couple of things)
Break (And We Are Here Together). NC-17; 16,785 words [total]; 7,188 words [part one]; 6,857 words [part two]; 2,740 words [part three]. Um…explicit sex, established consensual BDSM relationship, mention of abuse in James’s past, all the hurt/comfort ever, and the magical healing powers of sex with Michael. So this was supposed to be me filling in a missing scene, in which James and Michael have a couple of days off and experiment with some things. It grew into an enormous beast, with all the emotions, cuddling, some rather kinky interludes even for me, some revelations about James’s past "relationship", and more cuddling!
Touch (Here Waiting Patiently). R; 2,870 words. Non-explicit mention of past non-con, emotional hurt/comfort, sex in a storage closet, and a marriage proposal.
The Continuation
general series warnings: opens with Very Bad Things happening to James (abduction, violence, noncon, trauma); after the first two stories, though, it's all about the hurt/comfort and healing. All of these come with NC-17 ratings just for those thematic elements. And I promise that the boys have a happy ending. There should be one more story to go.
Blood (I Fear My Time Is Short, There Are Armies Moving Close). 4,495 words. That Person from James’s past isn’t happy that James and Michael are getting married. And it’s at least an hour before anyone even realizes that James is missing. Abduction, violence, noncon (both present and mention of past), and also this part ends with a cliffhanger; sorry! This first story starts almost immediately after the events in Touch--later that same night, in fact--so if you haven’t read at least that one, please do—this will make much more sense! I promise happy endings eventually.
Night (This Crime, The Shame Of What A Man Can Do). 4,188 words. There’s a difference between finding someone, and actually rescuing him. James in the hospital, devastated Michael, the importance of never giving up, love. The immediate sequel to Blood, which you should read first, because this one starts where the cliffhanger left off!
Water (Where We Were Going, And So Far Away). 4,128 words. James in the hospital; slow movement toward healing; the police have some questions, and James and Michael try to have answers; Michael has an idea, and just maybe it’ll be a good one…
Wounds (Down The Long, Long Road Back Home). 6,458 words. A new house, some nightmares, warm arms in the night, hope.
Intentions (Reprieve, Imagining The World Outside). 7,732 words total; 2,563 words for part one, 5,166 words for part two. Michael tries to make dinner; James has some horrific flashbacks; a knife, nightmares, panic, hurt/comfort, reassurance via Beatles songs and peanut-butter chocolate-chip cookies.
Doubt (Whenever I Let My Guard Down, Whatever I Was Ignoring). 4,389 words. Breakfast foods, rituals, hands being held, the first of two phone calls.
Fire (Change What I Can, And Pray The Hope Will Not Disappear). 6,843 words. The direct sequel to Doubt (later that day); aftermath & healing after non-con; very brief self-harm. Michael both should and shouldn’t’ve gone anywhere. James shouldn’t’ve found sharp objects while cleaning. But James doesn’t want to do that, not really, so we get the second of those two phone calls…and maybe even some kisses, by the end.
Air (All I Want Is To Feel This Way, To Be This Close, To Feel The Same). 5,867 words. James needs new clothes, the boys go out for lunch, Michael has the best day ever, and the couch is very happy to accommodate some kissing and possibly even making out. Also, both James and your humble author are tremendous geeks.
Truth (I’ve Been Away Too Long, I Know I Have). 9,572 words total; 5,282 words [part one]; 4,304 words [part two]. Sometimes there are perfect moments, even when they shouldn’t be; or, the boys get to try to have sex again, at last, on a misty morning.
Light (All Things In Time, All We’ll Ever Need). 14,550 words total; 5,730 words (part one), 6,621 words (part two), 2,203 words (part three). Some days are bad days, some days are good days, and some days are very good days; James and Michael try to recapture their previous bedroom roles, very carefully; D/s dynamics and protective Michael; James has a surprise for Michael…
Up next: I suspect the title will come from "I Will Not Take These Things For Granted" for this last one. One more to go...
Loving Days (Belong Together)
Written for prompt #37 from the Spring McFassy Fest: Rewatched the "not a tender lover" interview and now I'm craving some Mean&Nasty!Fassy. Like doesn't bother with enough(or any) prep; doesn't offer a reach around; pulls out, washes the blood off his dick and is gone type deals. I did ask whether I could give them a happy ending, and was told yes, so please don’t worry! There’re fifteen chapters for a reason!
Basically this turned into an epic story about hurt and pain and redemption. NC-17 overall for the thematic elements, though the various chapters range from PG to NC-17; in early chapters, warnings for probable dub-con (James did say yes to Michael, but things’re far more painful and onesided than he was expecting); in later chapters, warnings for ALL the fluff!
Loving Days (Belong Together). 44,922 words total. Epilogue here (PG, 1,542 words); Chapter 15 part two here (R, 6,258 words); Chapter 15 part one here (R, 4,318 words); Chapters 13 & 14 here (PG-13; 3,891 words); Chapters 11 &12 here (PG-13; 3,590 words); Chapters 9 & 10 here (NC-17; 6,957 words); Chapter 8 here (R; 4,161 words); Chapter 7 here (NC-17, 4,075 words); Chapters 4-6 here (NC-17; 5,949 words); Chapters 1-3 here (NC-17; 4,181 words)
That Trilogy With The Dropkick Murphys Soundtrack
Like A Song You Still Know From So Long Ago. PG; 597 words. Part one: James knows the exact minute he fell in love with his best friend. Unfortunately, he’s already married. Angst, not quite a happy ending, references to interviews in which Michael gets James to sing; my first attempt at writing James POV!
The Only Road. PG for content, or R for occasional uses of the f-word;1,527 words. Part two: Lonely, pining, forgetting-to-eat James; missed phone calls and possibilties, leading to part three...
Forever. PG for content; R for some use of the f-word; 2,950 words. Part three: Michael comes to find James, and there's a happy ending. Also, food is love.
(there MIGHT be a fourth part of this...in which there is much more caretakingly protective Michael and a lot more food...we'll see...)
Stand-Alone Fic
To Lose Everything, Just To Find You (or, Five Uses For Everyday Honey). Overall, R and 12,600 words; written as a rather belated birthday-present for
The Beats Of My Heart That I Gave You. PG-13 for some implied sex and one use of the f-word; 3,377 words. Birthday fic for
When The Wheels Touch Ground.
Written as comment!fic for
Out Of My Head, Into The Clear.
Really only R for non-explicit long-distance telepathic sex, in which Charles is away for a conference, and missing Erik; partly the fault of
Have It All. G; 1,331 words. Road-trip fic in which Charles is a terrible sick person, Erik is a terrible nurse, and someone says I love you for the first time; written—in one draft, in my chilly apartment—as comment!fic for
In The Stars. PG-13 (implied sex); 1,648 words. Written as a gift for
And The Stars Will All Come Out. G; 588 words. Birthday fic for
Indelible. PG; 436 words, originally comment!fic for
It Falls Apart For You To Mend (A Little More Action). Co-authored with
Hands On (A Miracle). PG (some slight suggestions of future plans of sex); 2,478 words. Written for the always-wonderful
Written for the
Chapters 1 & 2 here (4,146 words); chapters 3 & 4 here (4,177 words); chapter 5 here (4,911 words); chapter 6 part one here (6,718 words) and part two here (3,170 words); chapter 7 coming soon...
Balancing Act
(warnings for these: So a while ago I was inspired by
The Best Of You.
Very belated birthday fic for
To Make Us Smile. 4,371 words; R for thematic elements and some fairly explicit sex on the uncomplaining couch; mention of past self-harm and past abuse; but James is better, now, with Michael here. Birthday fic for
On Our Way Back Home. R for sex; 4,770 words. Lazy mornings, sunlight, Michael finding interesting ways to awaken sleepy James, a story that was meant to be PWP but suddenly grew all this emotional hurt/comfort plot…Also thanks to the lovely
Do You Want To Know A Secret (I’m In Love With You). R for heavily implied sex? 1,762 words. James owns a kilt. Michael appreciates this fact. After some angst and comfort and boys learning to communicate, of course. Also partly the fault of
If You’re Wondering If I Want You To, I Want You To.
Birthday fic for
Made For Each Other (As The Stars Were Made For The Sky).
(It'll probably make more sense if you read hers first, though I think mine should stand alone okay if you read it by itself, too.)Like Every Wish I Ever Made Came True.
Co-authored with
So
Love It All.
The fault of
Sing Along (If You Want Me To). PG-13 for implied sex near the very end; 5,535 words. The sequel to To Offer Up The Night (Tonight), which I wrote for
To Offer Up The Night (Tonight). PG; 291 words. Written for
Tell Those Stories (As Farfetched As They May Be).
Inspired by
October Light. PG; 4,023 words. Michael is having a bad day. James wants to help. Written for
Just Like A Magnet.
Inspired by
A Chance, In Your Hand.
