I purchased a iPhone 17 Pro on release day upgrading from an iPhone 14 Pro but right out of the box holding it, generally checking it out the aluminum body made it feel like I was holding a can of beer, not a phone so I immediately traded it in for an iPhone Air made of titanium and I love it. I have no idea why all the bad press, but I am not a professional photographer so maybe the camera is the issue the battery life has been fine if I want to listen to music I have AirPods. Does anyone actually have one of these that has a major complaint?

I recently upgraded from a 14 Pro to the 16 Pro Max thanks to a free upgrade through Verizon. Otherwise I'd be all over the 17 Air. I've said I'd never buy the first model of anything but the Air could change my mind.

My wife got a free upgrade too, jumping from the 11 Pro Max to the 17 Pro Max. She absolutely loves it - especially the wireless charging. Neither one of us is a photographer. We each have a couple hundred pictures saved so the standard model camera and the 17 Air cams would be fine for us. She looked at the 17 Air but preferred the 17 Pro Max. Not sure why - maybe the familiar form factor.

The Air is an absolutely WONDERFUL device. But if I’m spending $1000+ on a smartphone, it’s going to be the Pro/Max for only $100-200 more. Which is what I did.

I am trying to be intentional about using phones and Air is actually perfect for that. Camera functions are much more limited than I thought, but hey, it's a feature not a bug :) I'm very happy with the Air.

This topic has already been discussed in several different threads here since the very day this iPhone was released. All that's required is to read.

For one to create yet another thread simply to ask a generic question, reveals a degree of complacency and disregard for the wasted space consumed.

People who own it love it..... People who don't are split between hating it, and thinking its ok but just not for them.

There that summarizes the 500 posts on this topic

I have had my 1TB Space Black Air from the time I was able to pre-order this device and have been enjoying using it as my primary iPhone. I really love how thin and light this device is yet able to do anything I throw at it. Overall my experience is that the iPhone Air is an exceptional iPhone. Totally underrated in my opinion.

With that said . . . yesterday I pulled the trigger on a 1TB Dark Blue 17 Pro which arrives tomorrow. I have no intention to replace my Air with this 17 Pro for my main iPhone. I will still be using my Air as my primary iPhone. I got the 17 Pro mainly because of how much more you can do regarding photography using the new device. The Air did a fantastic job taking pictures but, coming from my 15 Pro Max, I have always taken for granted having the extra lenses for my camera and more options to take pictures or videos using the Pro series iPhone.

Ironically, I still use my 512GB 13 mini as my backup iPhone and that won't change with the introduction of my 17 Pro. Right now I'm at the point where it is nice to have all my devices paid off and able to have options with no sacrificing.
