❚❚❚❚❚ OPEN LOG.
■ CHARACTERS: You!!
■ DATE: DAY 124 | 40:00 and on
■ WARNINGS: Violence definitely...
■ SUMMARY: Let's start a fight
It's been quiet lately, hasn't it? Maybe that has you feeling restless, and for the more bloodthirsty members of the crew, what better way to let off steam than to kick the shit out of each other, really? Nothing brings a crew closer than knocking out some teeth. Probably.
The training rooms open are the VIRTUAL REALITY GRID ROOM (left) and the MELEE TRAINING ROOM (right). From the info pages—
This log is a general mingle log for general fighting or combat-focused training, so post a top-level, tag around, go nuts! Okay, don't go nuts, since Sebastian will be sort of watching to make sure nobody actually dies or gets terribly maimed, but. If you break a few arms, it's not his problem.
Alternately, if you're not feeling up to fighting, feel free to just come watch! What's an open log without a peanut gallery...

| VIRTUAL REALITY GRID ROOM Comes in single-occupancy and multiple-occupancy settings. The VR Grid Room is used to test a recruit's abilities to customized geological, gravitational, and atmospheric settings via controlled exposure. Threats may be generated during training by perusing the Species Acquisitions Catalog. |
MELEE TRAINING ROOM Similar in function with the VR Grid, only with the express purpose of putting two teams against each other in timed training simulations; that is, after an allotted time, the training room settings will change drastically, leaving trainees with no choice but to adapt immediately. |

As the questions start to roll out, Kaneki shakes his head.] No preference, [For environment. It would probably be more of a challenge if he didn't know. The host could have his fun with that decision, then.
And for weapons, well. Kaneki is, as usual, noticeably unarmed, clad simply in his CDC uniform.] That depends. You're "durable," right? [He believes he read something about that.] You can use what you like... Except you might want to avoid steel blades. [Not that Kaneki cared about a few cuts; they would break or bend if used against him.
A glance out of the corner of his eye.] I'd like to see what you can do first-hand. [He had a vague idea; Sebastian had been present during their infiltration mission, after all, and he had seen him take down plenty of those guards. It was a different thing, though, facing someone directly and seeing them out of the corner of your eye. That's what he was interested in.]
no subject
[ He taps on the screen a few more times until he hits a CONFIRM button, and the VR room beyond the observation window glitters with a light across its surface briefly as a sign that it's starting to load the settings. Sebastian turns towards Kaneki and nods. ]
But yes, quite durable. Removing a limb would be somewhat troublesome, so I would prefer if you did not do that, but we can say that is something of the upper limit.
[ Anything relatively "below" that though doesn't seem to be a bother, considering how casually he speaks of losing his limbs... ]
The same for yourself, or a bit less than that?

A.
No, he was here primarily for upkeep. Training was essential even to the master to keep up one's physical health and condition, to remain in peak form. Since his recruitment in to the CDC, the arrival on Macha... There had been less time for such things. With the chaotic situation planetside, missions, the evacuation- it had been some time. He had not felt comfortable leaving Dio's side for long, either, not with hostile plant and animal life. But the Neheda, for all it was a foreign ship, was at least a ship supposedly devoid of such threats.
Threats still existed, however.
Once he'd stepped in to the training rooms Luciola's fingers found the circuitry on his uniform, pressed, the large, cloak-like garment folding in on itself, flattening tight to skin in to a flight suit- though he had not been allowed in an aircraft properly since he accepted his commission. A mistake, he judged, on the part of the CDC. The use of manned aircraft would have changed things on Macha substantially. But that was not his call to make. Instead, he introduced himself to Sebastian Michaelis. One he was led to believe was similar to himself. He could note some passing instances- in bearing, and form. The rest was to be seen.]
I will largely yield to your judgement regarding those factors, sir.
[Though a "mister" in front of his own name was discomforting, he judged his own formalities as proper- the man was a recruit with more seniority than he.]
However, I see no need to raise the risk of potentially injury. Unarmed combat may be for the best.
[As interested as he was in the capabilties of the taller man, he was equally interested in the technology at use in this room.]
no subject
Of course. I only ask since for some, injuries are not quite so detrimental.
[ Himself amongst them. It's really of little bother at all until it starts to get to injuries that would be life-threatening for a human. He tags at the screen a few more times, then stands back as the VR room glitters to life as it loads the settings. He opens the door to the room, then motions for Luciola to go inside first. ]
After you.

I thought I'd never see the day you'd embrace technology.
[It comes out more deadpan than she intends, but even in a low mood, she's still going to sass Sebastian about his more old-fashioned preferences.]
If you're still up for weapons, I am too. If you want the extra fun, throw in a few more guys, but I'm still gonna fight you.
[She pauses a couple of seconds to consider the type of environment she'd prefer.]
If you don't have a preference, go for some type of forest.
no subject
Ah, well, with little reason to settle for something more old-fashioned, I suppose I must, yes? That, and I am curious at what they can offer.
[ He's never played around with this before, since last time they were on the ship, things were a bit more chaotic. Melancholy and boring is something that gives Sebastian much more free time, so to speak. He taps at the settings lightly, then stands back as he presses CONFIRM, and the VR Room glitters to life. ]
Weapons, one-on-one, and in a forest, as requested.
[ He takes off his suit jacket and tie, though, since if they're playing with weapons, he'd dislike having them torn. Everything else isn't as bad to potentially repair, at least. He folds them neatly and sets them on the console before he heads to the door to open it for her. ]

Adrien Arbuckal | Closed and Open prompts
The doctor came down to the VR Room equipped for training. He had the two blunted bone knives (they were mostly cleaned of blood) his shield ring and a new tool in his arsenal; the ability to teleport. He’d already tried to teleport a couple of times and ended up … not exactly where he wanted to be but firmly believed that practice made perfect so, another reason to get to work.
Settling Courser with a bone and a firm ‘down stay’ command, the doctor began to look for possible opponents.

Turning back to Barnaby, the doctor held both of his bone knives in his hands, watching the other man carefully. His t-shirt was already sweat soaked from previous training bouts and his hair stuck to his forehead but Adrien wasn’t winded and the speculative gleam indicated he was ready for this next round. ]

I doubt I have many offensive answers to what you’re going to throw at me, so I think we’re going to be testing how fast I can get out of the way.

closed to shinobu;
As she approaches, he slides his body sideways, offering her the console. ]
Preferences?
[ Much as he hates to admit it, he isn't just here out of a desire to help a friend. He's itching to release his own emotions. That list had too many familiar names, again. He'd spoken to Edward yesterday, right before evacuation. If his strength couldn't protect the people he cared for, what use was it? ]
I SOMEHOW MISSED THIS
In the meantime, Shinobu walks up to the console, thinking for a little while before reaching down. She thinks back to the place she used to direct her challengers to, back when she was still in the US rankings: a piece-of-crap building by her school. No, she wasn't going to replicate that completely, as that chapter of her life had long since passed. However, she did like the amount of pillars that were inside of the building. Not to hide behind, but rather for her to bounce off of.
After a minute or so, the environment shapes to form into wide, arena area, with many elaborately designed pillars within. While she didn't have much of an attachment to any certain area from home, the weather still suited her fine.
Turning her face around, she faces Noh-Varr.]

(She doesn't think it would get out of hand, necessarily, but she hadn't thought it would all go so crazy last time, either.)

I'll be nice and let you pick our setting. Ready to get your ass handed to you again?

Field, then.
[He'd needed no convincing, true, but he's eager, too readied with Roll at his hand; a cluster of long, silvered thorns at his wrist, and a secret, a tactic he'd yet to reveal. However, his host of surprises could wait, his bangle of terrors inanimate still, though he's smiled, decidedly confident too. Vriska could tease all she wanted this time.]
As before.

She normally dressed in uniform planetside, even on the Neheda. But this was training, and she'd shown up with her hair newly trimmed short, in loose pants and a tanktop, the splash of scars across her chest and back peeking over the fabric, the Orange team issue knife borrowed and never returned strapped to her thigh.
Just in case. They both knew just because they were on the ship didn't mean they were safe.
But she also doesn't say anything, letting Amber finish her set, beginning instead to stretch.]

The sudden pressure of fingers around her hand makes Parker stop like a cat about to be thrown into water and pull her wrist back, half-startled, half annoyed. The day hasn't been going on too well for her and she's more annoyed than usual, after that whole deal with Luke. She frowns at the woman in front of her, sort of recognizes her as one of the new recruits, and leans her chin up, lips pulled slightly. ]
What? [ She must be mistaken. Gotten her confused with someone else. ] I'm not-- I'm not a PKN7 cadet or a PKN7 lead. [ And maybe she's been spending way too much time with Shepard. ]
