Ammon News - Tourism Minister Imad Hijazin outlined the ministry’s budget and upcoming plans before the Parliamentary Finance Committee as it reviewed the 2026 draft general budget law.

Hijazin noted that Arab visitors especially tourists from GCC countries and Jordanian expatriates make up around 75% to 80% of all incoming tourists, while travelers from Europe and the U.S. account for no more than 15%.

Foreign tourists play a significant role in driving wider economic activity because they travel across different governorates, he stated.

The minister also highlighted the ongoing efforts to improve tourism offerings and strengthen the sector’s overall competitiveness.
