I was hoping to finish a fic to update with, but nope, still dry.
Anyway, last night I went to a dance! I haven't been to a fancy-dress ball since my senior prom, so it was interesting. Although I couldn't find my dress jacket and I forgot my tie, so my outfit wasn't complete. But it wasn't a costume, just a regular formal outfit. But I wore the shoes from my Oikawa costume, since they're the only nice shoes I have.
I got there and met up with
ketsuban, who was all dolled up, and we hung around because a bunch of us got there early. No one wanted to go into the dance hall space because it was freezing in there, so there were like fifteen of us in the lobby.
Finally they started reg, and then the dance. Well, first was a dance lesson. We learned the waltz, and two variations on it...and nothing else. I was expecting to learn a few different things, but eh. So I was dressed as a guy, dancing with a guy dressed as a girl. Ketsuban was dancing with a gal wearing bunny ears.
But once the dance actually started, we went downstairs to hang out. We met Danni (pwn493) and Tyson, who we thought were together, but it turned out they'd just met shortly before we did. And we all geeked out and talked about a bunch of random stuff. And there was food, and it was free. You had to pay for drinks though.
Eventually, the four of us decided that we should go upstairs. Actually, we'd talked about it but didn't do it until everyone was called up for the awards. None of us won anything, which was a shame (although the guy I'd danced with earlier got a prize for his costume).
We went back into the basement soon after and ran into a gal I usually see at cons. I told her I wouldn't be at Scon, but she said she wouldn't be either. And we got to talking and I told her about the voice classes, and she was like OMGYAY and I gave her and another gal information about them, so I hope to see them there!
Anyway, eventually everyone had to go home. Mandy came back with me because she wouldn't have been able to get back to her place by the bus that late at night.
So that lead to today! See, Mandy's been scanslating How I Became A Pokemon Card, which is a totally awesome manga, but I have the volumes and a scanner, so she took full advantage of that and finished up the first book. So that should prove to be awesome.
And then we went to the bookstore and I got her a book for her birthday, which is Wednesday. And after that we dropped her off at the station and she went home. Although she called me as I was typing all this and said that I still have her gloves. Eep.
And that brings us to now! So now, to the future!
Next weekend I'll be out of town for a baby shower for my aunt. I'm expected to take pictures at it...which reminds me!
