I mainly post personal things, fanart and random fandom here. On occasion I may post a rant about some aspect of fandom or my personal life to get them out of my system.

.access, subscribing & how I use my journal.

You're welcome to subscribe, or unsubcribe me, as you wish. No need to ask permission, or announce it to me or anything. Don't be hurt or insulted if I don't subscribe you back, or give you access to locked posts (I don't have a lot of those; more about that below). I'm not into posting or reading personal life stuff etc. online myself; am likely to subscribe to persons who for the most part post graphics and/or other fandom stuff that I'm into.

Almost all of my posts are and will be public. I make very few locked posts, all of these are personal in some way like about my health, or if someone I cared died or finances or something in that vein.

In any case, locked posts are be very few and far between (and I mean very - I think I've made maybe half a dozen since getting my LJ in 2005/DW in 2009). In general, I don't post anything I consider too personal online ever, whether it's behind a lock or not. I'm too private to do that.

SO, I'm not sure what I'll do with Dreamwidth's subscribe/access yet... all mutual friends from Livejournal I'll automatically "give access" (as long as I recognize you! LOL).

These are the subjects of my most fannish efforts, or because they keep making me think. I'm also usually always looking for new fanfic and fanart to devour.

In addition I enjoy a lot of British shows and movies, especially thrillers/cop shows and historical costume dramas. A few examples include Inspector Morse (cop show) and Aristocrats (historical costume drama). And my sense of humor is definitely more in line with with British shows - favorites include The Fawlty Towers, Black Adder, Keeping Up Appearances and many others) - than US sitcoms (only ones I've ever rewatched and/or collected are Get Smart original tv series), Soap and Sledge Hammer!)

.screencapping.

I used to cap a lot but what with the various file host shutdowns (megaupload), many website hosting fiascos and being a spoonie, I decided to severely cut down on screencapping and fansites because I miss being creative but I don't have enough energy after that stuff. And it had started to feel like work, not fun.

As of January 2017, I've shut down or adopted out most of my gallery sites as well as quit capping most tv series/movies I used to do.

As of January - June 2019, I shut down my screencaps gallery at Crystal Fires, The Vampire Diaries site and most of Oded Fehr site and let those domains expire. I now only cap for my personal use and for the sites I still have.

.transformative works policy.

Consider this open permission to make art, podfic and translate into other languages, with proper credit and a link back to the original work of course. Please send me a link to complete work as well, if you'd like, so I can add it to the fic in question.

If you ever need to change words/omit dialogue tags/add dialogue tags/bend, fold, spindle or punch holes in one of my fics for better podficcing purposes, please do so at will!

This is tricky work that deserves recognition, so I would really dig it if you mentioned it in notes, wherever you would normally have notes: "this fic is by [author] with (additions/alterations/ease-of-podfic transformations/contributions/however you want to describe it) by [your name]", or "adapted for podfic by [you] from a work by [author]" or whatever -- whether that's in your post or in the "headers" in the podfic.

Getting remixed and/or sequeled is something I'm not comfortable with at the moment.
